Kevin and I have scheduled so many wonderful trips this year that we thought we would share with our family and friends through our own personal blog.  What prompted this sharing is our trip to Europe.  We are flying to Portugal tomorrow, renting a car and doing a road trip through six countries in Europe in six weeks.  Sounds a little crazy, I know!  But we are doing it just the same.

But first!!, we started out our year with purchasing a truck and a camper from Spence & Erin and in turn they purchased a new truck and camper.  They upgraded from a 19′ camper to a 33′ camper.  A much needed upgrade for their family of four. We will see how we do in our little camper built for two. 

So far we love it!!

Our first camping adventure was supposed to be to Hocking Hills at the end of March, but the weekend we scheduled had a big storm coming in with high winds, rain, thunder and lightning.  So we scrambled that morning to find a campsite that wasn’t supposed to be hit by the storm and we found one (sort of) in Indiana.  It was supposed to be clear and dry but unfortunately, it wasn’t.  We still went and had a great time hiking and making s’mores.

The next weekend we ventured onto Hocking Hills and found pretty much the same weather 🙁  We did hike Old Man’s Cave and went to the Mystery House, which the grandkids, Eva and Liam loved.

Kevin and I have been camping almost every year for the 23 years we have been together and as anyone who has ever camped with us can attest to, we have never camped when it didn’t rain.  Kevin became a master at creating campsite cities with tarps overhead so the rain never stopped us.  But we are hoping now that we will be doing more camping, we will be lucky enough to camp when it is not raining.  Keeping our fingers crossed!
